HIST 4349 Jewish History (3 semester hours) This course will examine the profound transformation that Jews, as communities and individuals, experienced from the late eighteenth century to the postwar period while exploring the political and ideological, as well as cultural and religious developments. Central themes include the Jewish Enlightenment, the process of emancipation, religious reform, modern anti-Semitism, the Holocaust, Zionism, and the founding of the State of Israel. Prerequisite: HIST 1301 or HIST 1302 or HIST 2301 or HIST 2330 or HIST 2331 or equivalent. (3-0) T
