AHST3316 - The Art of the Baroque

AHST 3316 The Art of the Baroque (3 semester hours) Studies in the art and architecture of the 17th and/or 18th centuries in Europe. The social, political, and religious background to the art of the period will be emphasized. The impact of certain artistic personalities, such as Caravaggio, Bernini, Rubens, Velazquez, and Rembrandt will be analyzed. Prerequisite: ARTS 1301 or equivalent. (3-0) T
