PPPE 6305 Digital Platform Strategy, Security, and Regulation (3 semester credit hours) Digital platforms are becoming essential building blocks of modern economies, particularly among products and services created by software. The focus of this course is on how to create, grow, and manage a platform in an evolving regulatory environment. Course content will draw concepts from multi-sided market, social network, information asymmetry, pricing, and game theory. This course will also cover contemporary policy debates regarding platform security and regulation. Students will apply the concepts to analyze and make decisions on platform and policy design in case studies drawing from ideas related to the sharing economy, social media, security and privacy, among others.
