OPRE 6389 Managing Energy and Environment: Risk, Investment, Technology (3 semester credit hours) MEERIT is for students and professionals interested in energy: hydrocarbon resources; nuclear and renewable technologies; transformation, transportation, and storage of energy; procurement and investment risks; interplay between energy and environment. It introduces terminology, describes processes, presents business, societal, and environmental issues along with qualitative and quantitative solutions. Energy sector is interdisciplinary, housing applications from various disciplines: operations, engineering, economics, finance, etc. Students involved in each of these disciplines learn applications of their knowledge and perspectives of other disciplines.
