MIS6354 - Practical User-centric Web Development

MIS 6354 Practical User-centric Web Development (3 semester credit hours) In this hands-on course, students apply user-centric principles to design and implement a web-based solution for real-world clients. The course integrates diverse disciplines, such as psychology, computer science, graphic design, and information systems, to address client requirements effectively. Emphasis is placed on web interface design and user experience (UX) methodologies, including persona development, affinity diagramming, storyboarding, prototyping, and usability testing. Students have the opportunity to leverage their existing knowledge of technologies like Python, JavaScript, PHP, HTML, client-side scripting, server-side programming, database connectivity, third-party API integration, web hosting, and administration. The choice and use of these technologies will be dictated by both the specific requirements of the clients and the student's competency levels. (3-0) S
