NSC 4330 Fundamentals of EEG and ECoG (3 semester credit hours) An introduction to techniques and applications. Electroencephalography (EEG) is a non-invasive recording of electrical activity (from the scalp) of ensemble spontaneous cortical neuron activity. Intracranial EEG or electrocorticography (ECoG) uses invasive electrodes to record directly from the brain's cortical surface. Both EEG and ECoG are utilized in clinical and intraoperative settings for the diagnosis of diseases, including epilepsy. Both are often used in research in the neurosciences. Prerequisites: (NSC 3361 or equivalent) and NSC 4352. (3-0) T
