Micro-credentials are designed for undergraduate students seeking to supplement their bachelor's degrees with additional skills in the field.

Micro-credential in Behavioral Research Methods
6 semester credit hours
Behavioral Research Design and Analysis, formulating and testing meaningful behavioral hypotheses, interpreting and communicating research findings, and scientific writing skills applicable to reporting data analyses. These skills are relevant to students pursuing careers in areas such as: UX Research, Data Science, and Machine Learning.
Admission Requirements
Students may register for the program the same semester they are taking the applicable courses.
Prerequisites
The prerequisite for this sequence requires completion of any one of the following four courses:
PSY 2317 Statistics for Psychology
or STAT 1342 Statistical Decision Making
or CS 3341 Probability and Statistics in Computer Science and Software Engineering
or STAT 4351 Probability

Introduces important tools and methods in the areas of Data Science and Machine Learning. These skills are relevant to students pursuing careers in Data Science and Machine Learning.

No computer programming experience is required.

Micro-credential in User Experience (UX) Research

Introduces important tools and methods relevant in the pursuit of careers in User Experience (UX) Research and Usability Engineering.

Prerequisites
No computer programming experience is assumed.

The following two course sequence (which is cross-listed with the UTD Computer Science department and the UTD Cognitive Science Program) provides an in-depth introduction to mathematics relevant to understanding advanced machine learning algorithms and data science concepts.
