HIST3311 - Early Modern China
HIST 3311 Early Modern China (3 semester credit hours) This course examines political, economic, social, and cultural developments in Chinese society from the middle of the fourteenth century to the end of the eighteenth century. Thematically, the course emphasizes such early modern developments as increasing commercialization, social mobility, and the questioning of received cultural values, as well as state-building, frontier expansion, and Chinese trade and migration abroad.
