GEOS 5441 Advanced Sedimentary Processes (4 semester credit hours) Origin and classification of sedimentary rocks, reconstruction of ancient environments, and principles of modern stratigraphic nomenclature. Concepts of space and time in the rock record and methods of stratigraphic correlation. Integrated stratigraphic techniques. Study of sedimentary rocks in hand specimen and outcrop. Laboratory course. $100 lab fee required. (3-3) Y
