NOTES:
1 Curriculum Requirements can be fulfilled by other approved courses from accredited institutions of higher education. The courses listed are recommended as the most efficient way to satisfy both Core Curriculum and Major Requirements at UT Dallas.
2 Students completing the 020 requirement with a MATH course must complete ALEKS exam prior to enrollment. PHIL 2303 does not require the ALEKS exam.
3 A required Preparatory course that also fulfills a Core Curriculum requirement. Semester credit hours may be counted in Core Curriculum.
4 Major Core - HIST 3301 and HIST 4390
5 Select any 6 upper-division HIST courses from 3 of the following 5 geographical areas. One course must cover a topic in pre-1500 history.
  • East Asian History
  • European History
  • Latin American History
  • Middle Eastern History
  • North American History
6 Select any 2 upper-division HIST courses
7 Free Elective - any lower or upper-level course. Students may need to take some as upper-level to meet the university requirement of earning a minimum of 45 semester credit hours of upper-level courses.
Students wishing to pursue a teacher certification should see an advisor for additional requirements.
Be sure to check prerequisites of 2000-level or higher courses.
