OPRE 4310 Lean and Six Sigma Processes (3 semester credit hours) This course introduces the concepts and techniques in Lean and Six Sigma. Lean manufacturing/service focuses on improving the speed of a process and the elimination of waste, primarily by reducing non-value-added steps. Six Sigma deals with the effectiveness with which a process meets customer requirements and is free of defects. The course covers these topics with a particular emphasis on quantitative methods.
