CLDP 4348 Diverse Family Systems (3 semester credit hours) Explores historical and contemporary theories related to family functioning and analyzes the impact of varying demographics, stressors, and transitions on family dynamics. Theories will be presented in class and applied to diverse family systems within cultural and societal contexts. Treatment options will be discussed with emphasis on the importance of parent education and support when working to meet the needs of children, youth, and families.
