| 1 | Incoming freshmen must enroll and complete requirements of UNIV 1010 and the corresponding school-related freshman seminar course. Students, including transfer students, who complete their core curriculum at UT Dallas must take UNIV 2020. |
| 2 | Curriculum Requirements can be fulfilled by other approved courses from accredited institutions of higher education. The courses listed are recommended as the most efficient way to satisfy both Core Curriculum and Major Requirements at UT Dallas. |
| 3 | Students completing the 020 requirement with a MATH course must complete ALEKS exam prior to enrollment. PHIL 2303 does not require the ALEKS exam. |
| 4 | LIT Prep = LIT 2350 and 6 SCH of (LIT 2320 or LIT 2321 or LIT 2331) NOTE: If the student took one of these courses as their core, then the student may choose any free elective in its place as a lower-level major requirement. |
| 5 | LIT Core = LIT 3339 or LIT 3300 or LIT 4329 |
| 6 | LIT Specialization = 3 SCH of (ARHM 3342 or LIT 3338 or 3000 or 4000-level CRWT), 6 SCH of LIT 3319, and 3 SCH of (CRWT 3330 or LIT 3337). |
| 7 | LIT Elective = Any language course or any 3000 or 4000-level LIT or CRWT Course |
| 8 | Free Elective = any lower or upper-level course. Students may need to take some as upper-level to meet the university requirement of earning a minimum of 45 semester credit hours of upper-level courses. |
