3 | Indicates a prerequisite class to be completed before enrolling for upper-division classes. Specific prerequisites are required for certain upper-level courses (e.g. BA 1310 or BA 1320 or ECON 2301 for IMS 3310). Review requirements for your major and choose accordingly. |

Students interested in this option must see the Undergraduate Accounting Program Director or the Associate Area Coordinator for approval. |
9 | Students admitted to the Professional Program in Accounting will be required to register for a one-credit hour elective in the spring semester of the junior year. |
10 | CPA Requirements: Only certain accounting electives may be used to satisfy the 30 Accounting Hours Requirement for the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy. Students should refer to the list of approved undergraduate accounting courses at: https://jindal.utdallas.edu/accounting/cpa-exam/#02-educationqualifications. |
11 | A practicum experience is required; the student has the option of zero to 3 semester credit hours, depending on the particular internship, and preference for additional electives. Internship requirement MUST be completed by graduation. |
12 | Free Electives: 0-3 semester credit hours are required for the B.S. Accounting degree. Students who complete OPRE 3340 instead of MATH 1326 or PHIL 2303 will complete zero semester credit hours of free electives. Instead, these students should complete their second 090 Component Area Option Core Curriculum requirement. Students who complete MATH 1326 or PHIL 2303 instead of OPRE 3340 will complete three semester credit hours of free electives. |
13 | Accounting Guided Electives: 12 semester credit hours from ACCT 3322, ACCT 4301, ACCT 4302, ACCT 4336, ACCT 4337, ACCT 4340, FIN 3330, FIN 3360, FIN 3380, FIN 3390, ITSS 4340, OPRE 4350, ACCT 4V80. |
