NOTES:
1 Incoming freshmen must enroll and complete requirements of UNIV 1010 and the corresponding school-related freshman seminar course. Students, including transfer students, who complete their core curriculum at UT Dallas must take UNIV 2020.
2 Curriculum Requirements can be fulfilled by other approved courses from accredited institutions of higher education. The courses listed are recommended as the most efficient way to satisfy both Core Curriculum and Major Requirements at UT Dallas.
3 Students completing the 020 requirement with a MATH course must complete ALEKS exam prior to enrollment. PHIL 2303 does not require the ALEKS exam.
4 NOTE: If the student takes this course to satisfy their core, then the student may choose any free elective in its place as a lower-level major requirement.
5 PHIL Prep = PHIL 1301, 1305, or 1306. NOTE: If the student took one of these courses as their core, then the student may choose any free elective in its place as a lower-level major requirement.
6 PHIL Major = 6 SCH of (PHIL 2316 or 2317 or 3322 or 3323 or 3324), 3 SCH of (3372, 4308, 3328, 4321) and 3 SCH of (PHIL 3375, 3320, 4323, 4324, 4325).
7 PHIL Elective = any 3000 or 4000-level PHIL course
8 Major Related = ARHM 3342, ATCM 3300 or ATCM 4384 or COMM 3351 or COMM 4360 or ECON 4301 or ECON 4381 or HSIT 3302 or HIST 3376 or HIST 3377 or HIST 4380 or LIT 3316 or LIT 3317 or LIT 3330 or LIT 3336 or OBHR 4310 or PSCI 3301 or PSCI 3306 or PSY 3360 or SOC 3303.
9 Free Elective = any lower or upper-level course. Students may need to take some as upper-level to meet the university requirement of earning a minimum of 45 semester credit hours of upper-level courses.
