NOTES:
1 Incoming freshmen must enroll and complete requirements of UNIV 1010 and the corresponding school-related freshman seminar course. Students, including transfer students, who complete their core curriculum at UT Dallas must take UNIV 2020.
2 Curriculum Requirements can be fulfilled by other approved courses from accredited institutions of higher education. The courses listed are recommended as the most efficient way to satisfy both Core Curriculum and Major Requirements at UT Dallas.
3 Students completing the 020 requirement with a MATH course must complete ALEKS exam prior to enrollment. PHIL 2303 does not require the ALEKS exam.
4 Language Course = any SPAN language course (or approved course of another language relevant to Latin American Studies).
5 Major Core = HIST 3398, HIST 3399, (IPEC 4304 or PSCI 4332), LATS 3301, SPAN 4315, and HIST 4315.
6 HIST Elective = HIST 3391, 4369, 4359, or 3397.
7 PSCI/ECON Elective = CRIM 3319 or GEOG 2302 or GEOG 3304 or GEOG 3359 or GEOS 2321 or (IMS 3091 or IMS 3V91) or IPEC 4304 or PSCI 4331 or PSCI 4332 or PSCI 4347 or PSCI 4348.
8 Cultural Elective = LANG 4348 or SPAN 3363 or SPAN 3365 or SPAN 3366 or SPAN 4301 or SPAN 4302 or SPAN 4364 or SPAN 4315.
9 LATS Elective = Any course under HIST Elective or PSCI/ECON Elective or Cultural Elective.
10 Free Elective = any lower or upper-level course. Students may need to take some as upper-level to meet the university requirement of earning a minimum of 45 semester credit hours of upper-level courses.
