SYSM6316 - Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship

SYSM 6316 (BUAN 6378 and ENTP 6388 and MIS 6377 and OPRE 6358) Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship (3 semester credit hours) Importance of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in established corporations, how to assess Entrepreneurial Intensity, and how best to organize and structure new ventures. Characteristics of the entrepreneur, or entrepreneurs inside large companies, who combine innovation, creativity, and leadership to develop and launch new products, new product lines, and new businesses. Through lectures, article reviews and real-word case studies the course addresses (a) building blocks for corporate entrepreneurship, (b) creating the entrepreneurial organization, and (c) achieving and sustaining entrepreneurial performance. Group-based projects further allow exploration of implications for a specific large company. (3-0) Y
