Graduate Certificate in Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring (IONM)
15 semester credit hours
The Graduate Certificate in Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring will provide students with didactic, internship, and clinical education to become certified Surgical Neurophysiologists.
Admission Requirements
The Graduate Certificate in Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring (IONM) is open to applicants from a wide range of academic backgrounds. Applicants with prior coursework in physiology, neuroscience, psychology, biology, audiology, biomedical engineering, or other health and life science-related disciplines are strongly encouraged to apply.
Degree Requirements
Applicants must have completed, or be in the final year of, a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. The degree must be conferred prior to enrollment in the certificate program.
Grade Point Average (GPA)
A minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 is required for consideration of admission.
Application Materials
Applicants must submit the following materials as part of the application:
- Transcripts: Unofficial transcripts from all colleges and universities attended are required at the time of application. OMicial transcripts will be required upon admission. Transcripts must be submitted for all institutions attended, regardless of whether a degree was earned.
- Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV): A current resume or CV detailing academic background, relevant coursework, and any clinical, research, or professional experience.
- Personal Statement: A written statement describing the applicant's interest in pursuing the Graduate Certificate in Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring, including relevant academic or experiential background and outlining short- and long-term academic and career goals.
Additional Information
Although not required for admission, prior exposure to neurophysiology, neuromonitoring, or related clinical environments may strengthen an application. Relevant coursework in neuroanatomy, electrophysiology, or biomedical sciences is also recommended.
Admission to the certificate program is competitive. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

Graduate Certificate in Pediatric Auditory Technology and Habilitation (PATH)
15 semester credit hours
The Graduate Certificate in Pediatric Auditory Technology and Habilitation (PATH) will present speech-language pathology and audiology students with the knowledge and skills necessary to maximize auditory communication for children and families, birth to 21 years, who have communication challenges secondary to hearing loss.
Admission Requirements
The Graduate Certificate in Pediatric Auditory Technology and Habilitations (PATH) is intended for current UTD degree seeking students in the Doctor of Audiology or Speech-language Pathology Master's program at the university who have:
- Enrolled for 12 or more academic credit hours
- Earned a grade point average of 3.0 or higher
- Demonstrated satisfactory clinical performance
- Completed a minimum of 9 undergraduate hours of courses in communication disorders
Deadline: Please take note of regular application deadlines. All complete application files received by the deadline will be reviewed for admission. Students are accepted for the fall, spring, and summer semesters.

Applications submitted or completed after the deadline may be reviewed for admission only if spaces remain within the upcoming cohort and will be reviewed in order by the date the application file became complete.
