PSYC7382 - Health Psychology

PSYC 7382 (HCS 7382 and HDCD 7382) Health Psychology (3 semester credit hours) A graduate level introduction to health psychology; this course will use a biopsychosocial perspective to understand the social, psychological, and behavioral factors associated with health and illness. Topics may include stress and coping, health behavior and behavior change, patient-provider communication, psychoneuroimmunology, developmental origins of disease, social relationships, social determinants of health and health disparities, and evaluating health information. Prerequisites: BBSC majors only and department consent required. (3-0) R
