OPRE6394 - Technology Strategies and New Product Development
OPRE 6394 (BUAN 6375 and ENTP 6375 and MKT 6375 and MIS 6375 and SYSM 6332) Technology Strategies and New Product Development (3 semester credit hours) Addresses the strategic and organizational issues confronted by firms in technology-intensive environments and assess how successful firms manage these issues. Reflects six broad themes: (a) managing firms in technology-intensive industries; (b) forecasting key industry and technological trends; (c) linking technology and business strategies; (d) using technology as a source of competitive advantage. Uses lectures, article reviews and real-word case studies to cover the above topics. Group-based projects further allow exploration of implications for specific vertical sectors. (3-0) S
