CPSY 7300 Clinical Psychological Science I (3 semester credit hours) Provides foundational training in the clinical science of assessment, with emphasis on measurement theory, psychometric methods, and the integration of assessment into research and practice. Critical examination of the empirical literature on validity, reliability, structured interviewing, cognitive and achievement testing, self-report measures, and fidelity checks, alongside advanced topics such as performance validity testing, ecological validity, and the reliability paradox. Introduces mechanism science through the study of mediators and moderators of change and connects assessment to routine outcome monitoring and introductory dissemination and implementation (D&I) research. Ethical, developmental, and multicultural considerations are woven throughout. Instructor consent required. (3-0) F
