1 Incoming freshmen must enroll and complete requirements of UNIV 1010 and the corresponding school-related freshman seminar course. Students, including transfer students, who complete their core curriculum at UT Dallas must take UNIV 2020.
2Curriculum Requirements can be fulfilled by other approved courses from accredited institutions of higher education. The courses listed are recommended as the most efficient way to satisfy both Core Curriculum and Major Requirements at UT Dallas.
3Indicates a prerequisite class to be completed before enrolling for upper-division classes. Specific prerequisites are required for certain upper-division courses. Review requirements for your major and choose accordingly.

  • BA 1310 or BA 1320 or ECON 2301 or ECON 2302 fulfills Major Preparatory and 080 Social and Behavioral Science Core Curriculum requirements
  • MATH 1326 fulfills Major Preparatory and 090 Component Area Option Core Curriculum requirements
  • BA 1310 or BA 1320 or ECON 2301 or ECON 2302 fulfills Major Preparatory and 090 Component Area Option Core Curriculum requirements
5Students may elect to substitute MATH 2413 or MATH 2417 for MATH 1325. Students may elect to substitute MATH 2414 or MATH 2419 for MATH 1326.
6In order to make timely degree progress, students should complete MATH 1325 or its equivalent by the end of their first semester at UT Dallas. Students who will not meet this requirement should contact their academic advisor to discuss their degree timeline.
7Students may substitute MATH 2333 or MATH 2418 or CS 2305.
8JSOM first-time-in-college freshmen are required to take BCOM 1300 in their first semester. Transfer students and students new to JSOM are required to take BCOM 3300 in their first semester.
9Major Related Courses: Students must choose 6 courses from the following 7 courses: OPRE 3320, OPRE 3330, OPRE 4310, OPRE 4320, OPRE 4330, OPRE 4340, OPRE 4362. If a student takes all 7, the remaining course can be used as a Guided Elective.
10Free Electives: 3-6 semester credit hours are required for the B.S. in Supply Chain Management. Students who complete MATH 1326 instead of OPRE 3340 will complete six semester credit hours of free electives. Students who complete OPRE 3340 instead of MATH 1326 will complete three semester credit hours of free electives and their second 090 Component Area Option Core Curriculum requirement.
11 SCM Guided Electives: 12 semester credit hours from: BPS 4305, IMS 4310, ITSS 4340, MKT 3320, MKT 3330, MKT 4330, MKT 4341, OBHR 4352, OBHR 4354, (IMS 4335 or ENTP 4340 or MKT 4360), OPRE 4v90, or any OPRE upper-division courses that are not part of the BS SCM major preparatory, major core, or major related courses.

Students wishing to obtain in-depth knowledge in a specific business area depending on their interests may choose at least 9 semester credit hours from one of the following tracks (optional):
  • Digital Supply Chain Management Track - OPRE 4350, ITSS 4340, MKT 4330
  • Project Management and Leadership Track - MKT 3330, OBHR 4352, OBHR 4354, MKT 3320
  • Analytics Track - OPRE 4350, OPRE 4353, OPRE 4337, MKT 4341
  • Global Supply Chains and Strategy Track - OPRE 4345, IMS 4310, BPS 4305, OPRE 4362 (if not used as Major Related course)
12Internship (Practicum) of at least 160 working hours required for all JSOM majors. 0-hour internship will fulfill degree requirement only. OPRE 4V90 Supply Chain Management Internship for credit hours (1-3) can apply towards free or guided electives. 13OPRE 4090 Supply Chain Management Internship or BA 4090 Management Internship is required, if not completing OPRE 4V90 Supply Chain Management Internship towards free or guided elective credit. For more information, visit https://jindal.utdallas.edu/career-management-center/internships/
14Community Engagement Experience required for all JSOM majors in fall 2018 catalog or later. Requirement fulfilled by (ENTP 4340 or IMS 4335 Social Sector Entrepreneurship and Community Engagement, or MKT 4360 Social Marketing) for 3-hour upper level guided elective; or BA 4095 Social Sector Engagement and Community Outreach Practicum for 0-hour degree requirement only. 15BA 4095 Social Sector Engagement and Community Outreach Practicum is required, if not completing (ENTP 4340 or IMS 4335 Social Sector Entrepreneurship and Community Engagement, or MKT 4360 Social Marketing) for 3-hour guided elective credit.
