GEOS2304 - Earth Energy Resources

GEOS 2304 Earth Energy Resources (3 semester credit hours) Explores where we get our energy, how we use it, and how the energy mix is changing with new technologies. Investigates why modern civilization requires increasing amounts of affordable, clean energy, why we want to transition away from fossil fuels towards renewable energy, and what are key climate concerns. A multidisciplinary course centered around how Earth scientists study climate and energy, and how understanding fossil fuels and critical minerals exploration will help guide the energy transition. Focus on essential knowledge, data-driven approaches, and critical thinking skills about our sustainable energy future. Online only. (3-0) Y
