PSY4348 - Sleep and Mental Health
PSY 4348 Sleep and Mental Health (3 semester credit hours) Good sleep is vital for our physical well-being. Yet there are ever-increasing numbers suffering from sleep and mood disorders. This course takes a biopsychosocial approach to the association between sleep and mental well-being. Students will be introduced to research about the neural control of sleep and investigate common sleep and mood disorders. With this knowledge, students will work towards improving mental well-being and lessening the stigma of mental illness. The course will culminate in a project that showcases knowledge and skills developed. Prerequisite: PSY 2301 and (PSY 3352 or NSC 3361) or equivalent. (3-0) S
