Certificate in Applied Experience Design and Research

12 semester credit hours

A Certificate in Applied Experience Design and Research is offered by the Program for Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communication in the Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology.

The Certificate in Applied Experience Design and Research provides focused learning in an applied area of expertise--user experience (UX) design--which is a needed role in companies focused on the creation and development of products, services, and experiences which are user-centric.

Admission Requirements

Enrollment is good standing at UTD

Certificate Requirements

Students must complete the following courses and receive a 3.0 GPA or better in each course:

ATCM 3340 Design II

ATCM 3336 Design Research Methods

ATCM 3337 Interaction Design I

ATCM 4341 Applied Experience Design

Certificate in Creative Writing

6 semester credit hours

The Certificate in Creative Writing will provide students with training in creative writing alongside their primary undergraduate specializations in other disciplines.

Admission Requirements

This Certificate is open to all UT Dallas students enrolled in an undergraduate degree program.

Students may register for the program the same semester they are taking the applicable courses.

Certificate in Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights

6 semester credit hours

These interdisciplinary classes are dedicated to the study of mass murder, genocide, and persecution resulting from cultural, ethnic, political, religious, and racial differences and are especially beneficial to students graduating with degrees in History and the Humanities as well as many other areas of study.

Admission Requirements

Students may register for the program the same semester they are taking the applicable courses.

Certificate in Intercultural Communication

6 semester credit hours

The Certificate in Intercultural Communication will help students master cultural competencies as related generally to communication, but it will also help students perfect their soft skills (e.g., teamwork, collaboration) for the global economy.

This Certificate is open to all UT Dallas students enrolled in an undergraduate degree program.

Certificate in Professional Communication

12 semester credit hours

A Certificate in Professional Communication is offered by the Communication Studies in the Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology.

The Certificate in Professional Communication provides students the opportunity to improve upon their oral, written, and visual communication skills as well as apply genres of professional communication in workplace contexts.

Admission Requirements

This certificate is open to baccalaureate-seeking students from all fields of study including, but not limited to the natural sciences, and management as well as students from the humanities disciplines (e.g., history, philosophy, literature).

Good standing at UT Dallas is required for enrollment.
