PSY 3326 Intergroup Emotion and Social Change (3 semester credit hours) Examines how conflict between groups is created and maintained. Consider social psychological perspectives on social identity theory and a number of group-level emotions including guilt, shame, anxiety, anger, fear, and sadness. Covers research on collective action, including protest. Discussion of Intergroup emotion theory to help understand present day and historical conflict between groups in the United States and abroad. Prerequisite: PSY 2301 or equivalent. (3-0) R
