MATH 5303 Advanced Calculus and Linear Algebra (3 semester credit hours) Concise introduction to elementary functions; differentiation; simple integration techniques; improper integrals; series and sequences; convex functions. Systems of linear equations, eigenvectors, and spectral theorem for normal matrices. Partial derivatives and linear approximations; optimization in one or several variables; multiple integrals. Applications of calculus and matrix algebra to differential equations and geometry of curves and surfaces.
