ATCM 6302 Theories and Histories of Semiotics (3 semester credit hours) This course examines the role of Semiotics in emerging media arts, science, design, technology, communication, and culture by exploring the histories of semiotic theories and their entanglements with linguistics, post-structuralism, aesthetics, and so forth to understand how sign systems function in narration, story, experimentation, and innovation.
