NOTES:
1 Incoming freshmen must enroll and complete requirements of UNIV 1010 and the corresponding school-related freshman seminar course. Students, including transfer students, who complete their core curriculum at UT Dallas must take UNIV 2020.
2 Curriculum Requirements can be fulfilled by other approved courses from institutions of higher education. The courses listed are recommended as the most efficient way to satisfy both Core Curriculum and Major Requirements at UT Dallas.
3 0 semester credit hours beyond Core Curriculum, if the student has not previously completed other courses to satisfy these core curriculum requirements.
4 A required Preparatory course that also fulfills a Core Curriculum requirement. Semester credit hours may be counted in Core Curriculum.
5 These courses may have prerequisites not listed in the degree plan, and may add to the student's time to degree.
6 Students must complete ALEKS exam prior to enrolling in a 020 core course.
7 If the student took PHIL 1301 as their 040 core, then the student may choose any free elective in its place as a lower-level major requirement.
8 If the student took PHIL 2303 as their 020 or 090 core, then the student may choose any free elective in its place as a lower-level major requirement.
9 Major Core = ARHM 3342 and PHIL 3321(Philosophical Traditions I)
10 PHIL Required Type = 2 2000 or 3000-level [History of Philosophy], 1 each 3000 or 4000-level [Theoretical Philosophy], [Practical Philosophy]
11 PHIL Elective = any 3000 or 4000-level PHIL Course
12 Related Course = any 3000 or 4000-level ARHM, HUMA, ISAH, LIT, RHET, AP, AHST, ARTS, COMM, CRWT, DANC, DRAM, FILM, MUSI, or Languages.
13 Upper-Level Elective = any 3000 or 4000-level course.
14 Free Elective = any lower or upper-level course.
15 PHIL 4328 (Philosophy Senior Capstone) is a major core course required to be taken in the senior year.
