GEOS6393 - Computational Seismology
GEOS 6393 Computational Seismology (3 semester credit hours) Principles of parallel computing with applications to seismology. Includes overviews of current computer cluster and switch architectures, writing and debugging parallel code, characterization of machine performance, fast Fourier transforms, Radon transforms, solution of matrix and wave equations. Laboratory course. Prerequisites: GEOS 5303, GEOS 5481, and any numerical analysis course. (2-3) R
