EPPS6350 - Mixed Methods Research Design
EPPS 6350 Mixed Methods Research Design (3 semester credit hours) This graduate course examines the theoretical foundations, design principles, and applications of mixed methods research across disciplines. Topics include the integration of qualitative and quantitative approaches to address complex research questions, the philosophical underpinnings of mixed methods such as pragmatism and critical realism, and strategies for designing, collecting, analyzing, and integrating data. Examples include combining ethnographic fieldwork with experimental design, integrating focus groups and survey research, or merging case studies with longitudinal quantitative analysis. The course emphasizes leveraging complementary methodological strengths to address multidimensional problems that extend beyond the scope of single-method approaches. (3-0) P
