NOTES:
1 Incoming freshmen must enroll and complete requirements of UNIV 1010 and the corresponding school-related freshman seminar course. Students, including transfer students, who complete their core curriculum at UT Dallas must take UNIV 2020.
2 Curriculum Requirements can be fulfilled by other approved courses from accredited institutions of higher education. The courses listed are recommended as the most efficient way to satisfy both Core Curriculum and Major Requirements at UT Dallas.
3 A required Preparatory course that also fulfills a Core Curriculum requirement. Semester credit hours may be counted in Core Curriculum. Students who take a different 040 course may still take LIT 2331 for the major.
4 Lower-level LIT Requirements = LIT 2320, 2321, 2350, and 2331.
5 Free Elective = any lower or upper-level course (Students must complete 51 hours of upper-level credit)
6 LIT Major Core = LIT 3339, 3330, 4329, and 4390
7 Major Distribution Courses include Research and Writing, Contexts, and Comparisons degree requirements. See catalog for full list of options.
8 Upper-Level Elective = any 3000 or 4000-level course.
9 LIT Elective = any language course or 3000-4000-level LIT or CRWT course.
Students wishing to pursue a teacher certification should see an advisor for additional requirements.
