NOTES:
1 Incoming freshmen must enroll and complete requirements of UNIV 1010 and the corresponding school-related freshman seminar course. Students, including transfer students, who complete their core curriculum at UT Dallas must take UNIV 2020.
2 Curriculum Requirements can be fulfilled by other approved courses from accredited institutions of higher education. The courses listed are recommended as the most efficient way to satisfy both Core Curriculum and Major Requirements at UT Dallas.
3 Students must complete ALEKS exam prior to enrolling in a 020 core course.
4 Lower-Level Appreciation Course = AHST 1303 or AHST 1304 or AHST 2331 or ARTS 1301 or DANC 1310 or FILM 2332 or HUMA 1301 or MUSI 1306 or THEA 1310. NOTE: If the student took one of these courses as their 050 core, then the student may choose any free elective in its place as a lower-level major requirement.
5 Lower-Level Prep Course = COMM 1315 or COMM 1320 or COMM 1321 or COMM 2314 or COMM 2317 or THEA 1351 or THEA 1352 or THEA 2372 or THEA 2373.
6 Free Elective = any lower or upper-level course.
7 Major Core = ARHM 3342 and AP 3340 and AP 3300.
8 COMM Core = (COMM 3351 or HIST 3322) and (6 hours of COMM 3320 or COMM 4313 or COMM 4340 or THEA 3372) and (COMM 4314 or COMM 4360).
9 COMM Elective = any 3000 or 4000-level COMM course.
10 Related Course = any 3000 or 4000-level ARHM, CRWT, HUMA, ISAH, HIST, PHIL, LIT, RHET, or Languages.
11 Upper-Level Elective = any 3000 or 4000-level course.
